Not too long ago, the brains behind A Kind of Guise traveled to the Middle East and purchased a wide selection of rugs from various countries. They have since created 100 bags out of the materials that were just released on their website.
On Friday a customer who has been shopping and selling to us for a few years came into the store, sold some items and then decided to STEAL some items. After I gave him $32 bucks for his merchandise and told him how much I appreciated his business and his style he took off his busted shoes and walked out with his girlfriend and a new pair of my NIKE DUNKS. Prior to the theft, he filled out a sheet with all his information on it. I called the cops but I really was not trying to put another brother behind bars. I found his brother online and told him to take care of it by 2pm today. So about five minutes ago the girlfriend came in acting like she was dropping off my girl scout cookies and handed me my shoes back. She said “oh here you go, he’s so silly. You are going to send your teenage girlfriend in here instead of coming into the store and apologizing yourself? So I’m calling you out. Marco Barnes you are a thief and I will make sure to email every store I know that you are a thief. Marco Barnes born on March 4th, 18 years old from Richmond, VA, graduate of Hermitage High class of 2011 is a thief. I even found a picture of him on Lookbook wearing the busted brown shoes he discarded in my store. You look real slick in your stolen clothing.

Nicki Minaj’s photo shoot for Blackbook Magazine is amazing. Check out the interview and read about the Meteoric Rise of this beautiful star. I remember bumping her mix cd like it was the last album I would ever hear. Play it at work, the gym and the club. I was in love and I still am. Sweet lips and a dirty mouth. My kind of lady. http://www.blackbookmag.com/music/the-meteoric-rise-of-nicki-minaj-1.37639
ASOBI SEKSU, THE TRILLIONS, CANARY OH CANARY AT THE CAMEL
TONIGHT: ASOBI SEKSU/ THE TRILLIONS/ CANARY OH CANARY/ ABSENT CENTER AT THE CAMEL!
This should be a pretty amazing show. Asobi Seksu are an excellent shoegaze/dream-pop group who wowed us when they played Strange Matter back in the spring. This show comes pretty close to the end of their North American tour for their latest album, Fluorescence, so don’t miss them, because it might be a while before they come through again. The Trillions have been making a name for themselves around Richmond for quite a while, delivering excellent live sets at several local clubs recently, as well as at the RVA Music Fest a couple months back. Canary Oh Canary are a pretty new local band who’ve picked up a buzz recently with their drawn-out, psychedelic take on indie rock. You’ll hear a lot more about them once our next issue comes out in a couple of weeks (spoiler alert), but for now, just trust us—their live performances are not to be missed. Rounding out the bill is Absent Center, a local band we don’t know too much about thus far. But if they’ve managed to be included on a bill like this, there’s no doubt that they’ve got something going for them. So what are you waiting for? Head to the Camel tonight for a can’t-miss evening of rockin’ sounds!
