DON'T FORGET TO VOTE TODAY FOR DEEDS

Five Reasons To Vote For Creigh Deeds Today

taken from: http://virginiademocrat.blogspot.com

Creigh Deeds is the best choice for Democrats to nominate. Here are five important reasons why:

1. He is the most experienced and the most ready to be Governor on day one;

2. He has a Progressive vision for Virginia in terms of education, encouraging economic development for the entire Commonwealth and in encouraging economic justice for all citizens;

3. He is a pragmatist, able to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans to accomplish his goals for the benefit of Virginians.

4. Because he is from a rural area, he is uniquely positioned to break through the regional logjam that has prevented a solution to the transportation issues in our state;

5. He is dedicated to using his power as Governor to force non-partisan redistricting upon the Commonwealth. This will profoundly change the relationship between our government in Richmond and the Commonwealth’s citizens, and set the stage for continuing and Progressive reform for the next generation.

Women love Deeds. Teachers love Deeds. Children love Deeds. Rumors Loves Deeds

October images from Afghanistan

Over the past month in Afghanistan, the Obama administration continued to deliberate on whether to commit further troops to the conflict, and at least 46 U.S. service members were killed, including 14 in two separate helicopter crashes today. A recent U.N. report recorded 1,500 Afghan civilian deaths in the first six months of 2009 alone, describing this as the deadliest year for civilians in Afghanistan since the start of the U.S.-led war against Taliban eight years ago. Collected here are some images of the country and conflict over the past month. All of this info, including the beautiful pictures below, can be found at http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/10/afghanistan_october_2009.html.

Going on Tour? Rent a Green Van

Greenvans is making a revolutionary change for the sake of the music industry. The founder, Andy Reitz of DEFEATER, had been aware of the increasing number of touring bands who are hurt by the cost of travel.

After successfully converting his own band’s vehicle to be run on vegetable oil and feeling the many benefits of alternative fuel on the environment and on their bank accounts, what started as something personal became the nation’s first fleet of rent-able alternative fuel vehicles. Greenvans offers veggie oil powered Ford vans, and they deliver the van to you, along with contacts to refuel the van along your tour.

Hopefully some of you caught Defeater last night at the Triple. Those dudes are great.
