Jenn Rockwell is Psychedelic:First Friday at Rumors Boutique
The first time I saw one of Jenn Rockwell’s pieces I thought Wow! this girl is painting my dreams. We are so excited to showcase her artwork for the month of February. We will be open late on Feb 3rd until 9pm. Please come in and show some support. We give the artist 100 percent of the profit so please come out and I will be playing awesome Psychedelic Music. It’s going to be trippy and awesome.
What brought you to Richmond Va?
I had been living in Philly for ten years on and off, with brief stays in Vermont and New York, and I was just burnt out on Philly. I loved living there but I was just so over it and wanted to move south so I moved here, not really knowing anyone.
When did you start drawing or making art?
I have been making art pretty much my whole life. I was inspired by my older brothers weirdo war drawings and would draw next to him when I was pretty young then middle school I got really serious about art, or I guess it got serious about me. Ever since then making art has been a very large part of my life.
How long have you lived in Richmond Va?
I have lived in Richmond for 3 years now.
Do you have a favorite local band or artist?
I admire many artists in Richmond, but I am especially fond of Julia Scott’s art. As far as local bands I really like the Diamond Center quite a bit.
