…then look no further.
This week at Strange Matter there are bands every night that you don’t want to miss.
Wednesday the Corin Tucker Band (ex Sleater-Kinney), Two Funerals (local favorites), and Fire Bison will be playing at the notorious 929 W Grace Street. Doors at 6, $12, all ages. If you remember Sleater-Kinney or love late 90s riot grrrl rock n roll you’ll want to be at this show.

Thursday the 20th is a show that I have been looking forward to and dreading, the Southside Stranglers last performance. A local punk band influenced by early garage rock, the Southside Stranglers always give a memorable performance. I remember my first time seeing the Southside Stranglers at 929 W Grace St, but when it was the Bagel Czar. Get there at 9, tickets are $6 (you can’t beat that!), 18+. Playing alongside the Southside Stranglers will be Murder from Baltimore (one of their last shows also), The Shirks from DC, and the Eurotics, another Richmond favorite. Get there early and buy these guys a drink, they deserve it.
Rounding out this trifecta of great shows is Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, and Burglar Fucker playing this Friday. Unfortunately this show is sold out but if you’re one of the few lucky people to have gotten a ticket then you will have a great time. $15, 18+, and music at 8pm.
