Go to the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, seriously. Just an hour outside of our city of Richmond is an indoor water park, complete with wave pools, lazy rivers, and hot tubs. Marshe recently had some surgery, so as a last fun time with no pain, we wanted to go to Philadelphia for her sisters Halloween party. Turned out the World Series was also taking place that weekend, so we cancelled our trip and found a closer replacement mini vacation: Great Wolf Lodge. This place is totally affordable & we are available to go anytime anyone ever wants to take us.

Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian Era England

The term steampunk originated in the late 1980s as a tongue and cheek variant of cyberpunk.

Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fan base and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other

Since the 1990s, the application of the steampunk label has expanded beyond works set in recognizable historical periods (usually the 19th century) to works set in fantasy worlds that rely heavily on steam- or spring-powered technology.

Steampunk was influenced by and often adopts the style of the scientific romances of the 19th century

Quite possibly one of the earliest mainstream manifestations to invoke the steampunk ethos was the original THE WILD WILD WEST television series that ran on CBS from September 17, 1965 to April 4, 1969

DEAD OF THE LIVING NIGHT portrays the artist’s fascination-turned-obsession with childhood fantasies and fears; the inability to look away when you know you should, combined with the desire to stay up all night fantasizing about the greatest adventures and abilities only imaginable.

The multimedia installation is inside a monolithic black room that mimics a horror/sci-fi section of a video store. Original VHS tapes line the walls in the dark, cramped hallway, a single bulb hanging overhead. In the adjoining room an interactive “magic beast” ride allows people the fantasy of flying on the back of a giant, movable creature. Outside, an old television set sits atop a stack of life-sized monster corpses, playing a video where high-speed editing and tongue-in-cheek cuts splice together gore and terror, assaulting you to the point of absurdity.

And this all sounds amazing…

The economy has been pushing fashion into a luxury more and more each day. I myself haven’t purchased a ball gown in over a year. OVER A YEAR. I remember the days of getting a paycheck and going out and buying an outfit for the weekend, an outfit for brunch and an outfit for a date or to impress the ladies.

Those days are done. Now the fashionistah in you must be pocket book friendly while still being creative. Thrifted clothing is replacing designer threads all over the world. Metal rhinestones are the new diamonds and weatherproof boots are the new stiletto heels. People are finding affordable ways to make their personal star shine brighter. Affordable hair pieces can turn a woman into a work of art. I would suggest visiting your local hair supply store and buying a few head pieces to spruce up your fall look. Dark brown and black look beautiful mixed with autumn blondes. Simply use a hairpin to secure a head piece and bring all the attention to your beautiful face.

Weave Suggestions from Marshe: The closest stores to VCU are between 2nd and 5th on Broad street. Try to buy hair similar to your own hair color. Have them remove the hair form the package so you can compare it to your own. Tracks are the best to cut up into small pieces and pin to your own hair. Do not spend more that $20.00 for a package of hair. ALSO STAY AWAY FROM AMAZING NAIL POLISH SECTION YOU WILL LEAVE PENNYLESS. Also when purchasing wigs I would suggest trying Lace Wigs they are HOT!. They are seriously wonderful and you can not tell they they are wigs.

Pabst Brewing Company, (owner of PBR brand, Colt 45, Schlitz, and Old Milwauke), is for sale! Turns out Pabst is actually owned by a charitable foundation. Since this for profit company is owned by a nonprofit, The IRS is demanding the sale. However, no one’e buying- this sale has been on the market for years.

According to industry details, PBR sales have gone up 25% this year, and this is not because people have turned to a cheap beer- Pabsts actually raised its prices last year. Supposedly industry marketers this is is simply because it’s cool to drink PBR.

Violet is associated with religion and spirituality. It is the darkest color on the color wheel. Positively, the qualities of violet are concentration, spiritual inspiration and insightful discernment

People with darker complexions will look excellent and most dignified in pale, icy shades of violet for shirts or blouses. All shades of violet add a distinguished and elite quality to the appearance.

Natural redheads and brunettes with reddish highlights in their hair and warm complexions will look great in muted violets or indigo blues. The freckled blond person with a warm complexion will look superb in violet-blue hues.
